I am glad that you are curious to know who I am.
My name is Steve Gindi. In Hebrew I am known as Yishayahu.
I am a Sofer Sta"m. That means that I make my livelihood by writing Sifrei Torah, Tefilin, Mezuzot and Megilot. Additionally, I draw highly inspirational drawings. I can also write and Decorate Ketubot.
I have four children Raphael, Yael, Leora Eshter and Moshe Abraham. We live in Bet Shemesh, Israel. I was, however, born in Brooklyn, NY.
I studied at the Midrash Sephardi for over ten years. During that time I received my Rabbinic Ordination. In 1985 I studied the craft of Sofer Sta"m and was certified in. I have been working as a Sofer Sta"m since about 1987. I have written hundreds of Mezuzot and dozens of sets of Tefilin. As well as many Megilot Esther. I have also written a Sefer Torah. I primarily sell my own work. All items on sale at this web site are written by me.
During the years I studied at Midrash Sephardi I also studied with Rav Yonaton Berger at Aish Hatorah.
I worked as a Unix network administrator during the dot com bubble.
